Scan Card System

This is the Scan Card System. Some time ago I had ask both the Pen Addict and Office Supply Geek about this system. Then to my embarrassment they go out of business. I have had this system since 1995. This system uses cards instead of lined paper notebooks. It is great for projects. You could also get your cards color coded for priorities. The top two notebooks were called the Diplomat with cards on both sides. Bottom left uses both cards on the left side and a notebook on the right. Bottom right were insert sleeves for binders where you could put cards. My problem now is that I am running out of cards. Still a great system. The cards measure 3 1/4" by 3 1/4".Posted by Picasa

  1. Seems like you might need to make your own refill cards with some cardstock, your computer and/or markers for the color coding, and a nice paper cutter.

  2. I am going to look into that. What is sad is that it is a great system but the company did not use the internet and blogg to get people to use and talk about it. Look at the difference between Jetpens and Scan Cards. If I can find a way to make the cards I will keep using the system.

  3. Levenger has simular stuff around their 3x5 card (and smaller) system. Their nicest offering is a tiered stand you can put the cards on to do task organization on your desk.

  5. Hey there! I love my scancard system. I refill by taking heavy card stock, going to my local Kinkos and using their slicer to chop up the cardstock to the appropriate size. I make about 200 at a time.

My worry is my sleeves will wear out and I won't be able to get a replacement. Do you have any idea how to find new scancard 'sleeves'? I really wish the company would have marketed the card system better.... so they could have stayed in business. Ah well.

I like the system so much I wrote up a review over on my blog.

  6. Saw the review, outstanding. I was afraid that no one was using this great system. You are correct they did not market the system well at all.

  8. What size are the cards? Does anyone have a sample they can send? Would like to get my hands on one of the pages, even an old worn out one to see if I can get it replicated or something similar.

  10. So are the cards meant to be used for something specific, or just anything your heart desires??

  11. Use them for anything. I like them for projects. Open the notebook and all your projects are there. You could also color code using different color cards. Great Item.

  22. I've used ScanCards on and off for many years. Off, mainly because supplies are a bit hard to get, and even if not, I'm cheap, and always hated spending money on paper. I've recycled ScanCards, erasing pencil marks. My latest trick has been to stick PostIt notes on ScanCards. PostIt notes are cheaper than ScanCards.

On, because the scanning of the nice bick unfolding ScanCard carrier *is* a good way to tickle your memory. On, because ScanCards are smaller than 3"x5" standard index cards, and fit more easily in my pocket.

Ah, well. It may be time to join the GTD folks with a Hipster PDA - a binder clip holding 3x5 inde cards.
