Papermate Ops n Pops

Back on 15 May 2009 I posted my 1967 Papermate Ops n Pops collection. At the time I had six with the goal of ten. I now have number seven. The yellow one on the right with black squares. These pens are number two on my all time favorite pen list and as I said before it "is the 60s". This new yellow one has not seen the day of light for 40 years. I just put in a new refill and it works fine. One should be in your collection. Three more to go.

  1. They look in pretty pristibe condition to be 4 decades old. Must be some great storage conditions.

  2. You are right. I do not buy these pens unless they are in great condition. The designs wear off with time and they are plastic. I am sure that is why there are so few of these around. They do get used but I am careful with them.

  3. Hey! I have that orange one! I got it for my 13th birthday and used it for years. Of course, the design wore off, but I still have the orange pen. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

  4. Great collection. Have not seen several in one place in decades. I made the first prototype while living in Europe with paper stickers and drilling a hole in a golfball and pounded lead into the bottom to act as the pen holder. My father worked for Gillette and was made president of Papermate about that time...
    Happy hunting!
