Unisonic Calulators

Of all my 70s calculators I enjoy the Uinsonics the best. These great calculators were sold through K-Mart and other places. I liked the standard three colors of  silver, blue and orange which were a trademark of Unisonic calculators. But most of all I likes the big blue numbers on the display just like the calculator on the left. Remember the TI calculators with those small red letter? By the way the TI 1265 which I own two also had big blue letters. Of all the Unisonics calculators I like the 940s and the 911s the best. Small enough for your pocket of briefcase. All made around the middle 70s. Then I find this great 911 in the picture with big red letters. The one looks like it was never used. Everyone should have a 70s calculator on their desk. Add one to your collection. Posted by Picasa

Parker 45s

Posted by PicasaTime to put the key chains away and get back to pens. Here we have three great Parker 45 ball point pens. Colors are gray, blue and green. Two have gold color trim and they are all in excellent condition. These pens are from the 60s so I have been in contact with Mad Men to see if I can get them some TV time. Another interesting item is the cardboard box that the pens were shipped in. According to the seller this is a modified cardboard box that the original 1954 Parker pens were stored and shipped in. These pens use the standard Parker refills and were made in the USA so these 45 year old pens can start work today. Add these great pens to your collection. Next post we will be adding more 70s calculators to the collection.

Add Key Chains To The List

I have posted my Beer Can Collection before so now I am now adding key chains to my list of items we collect down in the supply room. Sometime back our local paper the Killeen Daily Herald did a story on me with my pens and pencils. A reader from Copperas Cove Texas contacted me and asked if I would be interested in his key chain collection. Apparently his wife would not let him bring his collection in the house. Who would not want these 600 plus key chains in their house? These key chains are from around the world and there are 100 per board. I have more loose ones to fill in where they have been pulled off. The person who gave me this great collection worked on Fort Hood and many of these key chains came from our soldiers. The only other items that are in my garage that I collect are cassettes and toys from cereal boxes. I have a Lazy Susan display case that hold 500 tapes (full) and a fish aquarium full of toys from cereal boxes from the 70s and 80s. Someday I am going to get my truck in the garage. Add all these great items to your home collection.Posted by Picasa

JetPens Order

Here we have my current JetPens order. On the left is a Moleskine Fluorescent Roller Pen. I already had the yellow one and have since replaced the refill with a Parker Jotter refill. We will see how this one works. Then we have two Pilot Juice ball point pens and two Pilot FriXion Slim Gel Ink Pens. Last is the Pilot Birdy Switch Multi Pen with a refill. I added my other Pilot Switch Multi pen so you can see the difference in size. They both use the same ink refill so I can can start using the larger one. The smaller JetPen Birdy Switch Pen would only work as a checkbook pen. The large Pilot Switch is a great multi pen but with all of these type pencils you need to have deep shirt pocket or you will get stuck. Add them all to your collection. Posted by Picasa

New Pencils

Posted by PicasaHere we have two new pencils down in the supply room. On the top is the OHTO SUPER PROMECHA 0.5mm pencil. I already had the regular PROMECHA and it was time for an upgrade. This pencil has not received the best of reviews over at JetPens but it has worked fine for me. There is plenty of things to adjust on this pencil like the guild pipe and the amount of lead that is dispensed. The new Smash is another story. This pencil has a following. I have the black Smash and it has stayed in my pentel case. Now we see all these cool new colors. I picked up the green one but they also come in red, pink, white and blue. Pentel has been coming out with new colors to their standard line of pencils. The best part of this Smash is the size. The pencil fits just fine in your shirt pocket without sticking you. I get plenty emails about the one black Smash in my collection. Add them all to your collection.

More Scripto Pencils

My newest Scripto pencil is the oldest one in the picture. Here we have four Scripto K780s and a Scripto K760 on the left in blue. The oldest one is the green one on the bottom. I would think the 50s. Next the 60s  followed by the 70s and 80s and the top one in blue is the Scripto K780 from the 90s the Classic K780 Mexico. Of real interest here is the new old one on the bottom. These pencils are still available on EBay and other places. As long as the lead moves freely in and out the pencil should still be good. Next I remove the top of the pencil that holds the eraser like I did with the pencil on the left.  I do this because many of these older pencils are showing signs of rust. I like to use the older pencils but I also want them to look good. I know that some collectors leave the pencil as is and that is fine. Of the five pencils in the picture I have replaced the eraser part on the three oldest ones. As is the case with all Scripto pencils I do not ever use the erasers. Most are hard as a rock and there are to many good erases out there. These pencils look better with a un-used eraser. Add them all to your collection.Posted by Picasa

More Hallmarks

The pens and pencils in the middle display case are the ones that I have posted before. My new additions are on the right side and left side of the display case. These pens are complete. Cardboard box, pen display box, instructions and the pens plus refills. I will start on the left with a complete Walnut wood pen and my first one with gold trim. The ball point appears to have never been used. That pen was bought for $20.00. What a steal. As good as that ball point was the next pen is even better. The pen on the right is a Walnut felt tip pen. I already had one and is the pen on the right side of the display case. I was thinking that I would never get to see a Hallmark felt tip pen work again. They are not like the ball points that will work with an adapter and a cross refill. The two refills that came with this never used felt tip pen from the 80s WORK and the pen is in my pocket right now. Like the ball point I got a good deal on the felt tip as well. Hallmark pens have always been in the top three most visited posts in the supply room and are highly collectable. Add them all to your collection. Posted by Picasa

New Papermate Chuckler

Some time ago I posted the Papermate Rolli Bolli from 1971. Now from about the same period we have the Papermate Chuckler. This new one holds a  Papermate Malibu pen in its head. The head and feet are separated by a spring so as you use the pen the head bounces and bobs around. What fun. One of the best parts of these desk accessories are the two new pens. The orange one is my Best Papermate Malibu and is the same color as my orange Papermate Ops N Pops. The pen on the Chuckler is a red Malibu. There is currently a Chuckler on Ebay, new but is missing a pen. Add them all to my collection.Posted by Picasa

More New Items For 2013

More new/old items in the supply room. Starting on the left is a 5 pack of Pilot G-TEC-C4 pens. What is new about these great pens is that I found them at the Fort Hood Texas Post Exchange. Next is a 6" JTEC Tactical pen. This one also has a small flashlight in the end. Here is my new Zebra Tect 2 way pencil. I like these and I like the clear colors. This 0.5mm will be paired up with my 0.7 mm clear blue pencil.  Next is another Parker Sheaffer No Nonsense Ball Point Pen in clear blue. I already have a clear green one. A pack of BIC NS Fine Point Easy Glide pens that were made in France but sold in Korea. Next my third BIC 2 way and this one has a silver metallic barrel. Last is a vintage BIC pocket protector in orange. I do hope pocket protectors make a come back. Add all of these great pens and pencils to your collection. We will be showing my tactical pens and BIC 2 Ways very soon.
