December BIC Give-Away

Posted by PicasaLook what I have. These are the 1993 BIC Wavelength Body Heat Pens. These pen were made in the USA and will change color as your hand warms up. I opened a pack and they still work. They all have black ink so you could replace the refill with BIC Cristal For Her, BIC Cristal Bold or the BIC Shimmers. Any of these will do and are all in your local store. I will be giving away one package of BIC Body Heat Wavelengths. Leave a comment by 16 Dec. 2012 and maybe one of these packages of BIC pens will be yours. US only on this one. I may add something else to the package. No telling what can be found down in the supply room.

More Stuff To Post

Posted by PicasaI will start on the right with this great picture from the 60s of an ad for the Rocket Porous Point Pen. I do like those wild sunglasses. On the left are two BIC ECOlutions Round Stic pens. I have never seen the red ones anywhere. Thanks Sam. Next are two BIC 2 ways with the metallic blue with blue and black ink and metallic pink with pink and black ink. These pens are starting to show up overseas but not here in the USA. Last is my new Retro 51 all green pen. This makes six different retro 51 pens down in the supply room. Add them all to your collection.

I Will Catch Up

Here we have new items, new old items and things I forgot to post. Starting on the left are the Rhodia dot notebook and two of there great Rhodia pencils. These were sent to me to review from Exaclair and I forgot to do it. These are not even the ones they sent because I have had to replace them with more of the same. The notebooks have become the house notebook down in the supply room along with the pencils. Next starting at the top are two yellow BICs from China or at least have the word China on the side of the pens. Great additions. Next will be the school BIC from the 80s that writes black. Next is a new BIC Soft Feel Fineline pen. Could be a new type of BIC Banana. Don't think it is taking Europe by storm and that would be sad because it has a great fine point. Now we come to the new BIC fine points with the clear yellow/orange barrels. I have been pulling the refills out to put in other BICs. Not working that well. It appears that yellow fine point BIC are getting had to fine. I need refills to get the 1960s BIC green fine point pens to work.  The next three are erasers from International Arrivals. No nothing about this company but these erasers are outstanding and heavy. All have white erases but the center of the eraser is the color of the pen. On the right are some great old M10 BIC's. These were the ones that sold here in the US many years ago. Great carded pair and great pens. Can not refill these but sill great pens. Far right are more of the green fine point green BICs. Sorry to Exaclair for the delay. Add all this stuff to your collection.

BIC Containers

Here we have my three BIC containers. On the left is the one that was sold in Staples and can be used as a bank. On the right is one from Europe that does not have a coin slot on the top. This blue top one from Europe had regular BIC Cristals inside. My newest one is in the center. This BIC four way container stands about 7" tall and is holding some of my four 4 way and 2 two way BICs. Again I do not know why we can not get these nice pen holders here in the USA but it seems that BIC France is bigger then BIC US. The gold and silver 60th limited edition BIC plastic pens could only be found in Europe but they were made in Mexico. BIC could have just dropped off some here in the USA. Add all these great BICs to your collection.Posted by Picasa

All I See Is Green

I do not remember the last time I saw seven dozen BIC F-25s with the old extended plug on the end all in one place. Later BIC made the plug flush with the end of the barrel and put a hole in the cap. Kids kept putting the cap end in their mouth. There is also a dozen hard to find AF-49 Accountant Fine Point pens mixed with some super hard to find AF-49 Accountant Extra Fine Point BICs. This may be the only place that you can see this many 50 year old green BIC pens that have never been used. A few of the key pens are going to be traded to some other BIC pen collectors from around the world but there will be a future opportunity for some of you readers to get your hands on a 50 year old never used BIC F-25 in green with the orange barrel. I have already pulled the old refill out of some of these pens and they work fine. These are true collector items. Posted by Picasa

Pencils From Germ

Posted by PicasaHere we have some new old pencils that I got from Germ over at pencils 11. The pencils are Tombow and the bat is Pentel. I have seen a Pentel bat that was a pencil but not a lead holder. All of these are nice. The two outside pencils are orange and the one in the middle is pink. All work and appear to have never been used. I do not think they are new because they have green erasers like the older Pentels do. Great additions to the collection. It is however sad to see Germ's collection being broken up. I don't know why but his expertise in the pencil area is all ready missed. He was one of the first friends that I made when I started blogging and I never got a bad deal buying or trading with him. I do not know of anyone who could come up with that hard to find pencil like he could. As I posted this I was thinking of the best pencil that I have gotten from him. Did not have to think about it. The Pentel PD 505 metal side clicker. I consider it one of my best pencils.

Another Ops N Pops Ad

Posted by PicasaIt is a ad from the 60s but it is new to the supply room. You can see just a corner of the other Ops N Pops ad on the right side of the picture. This new one is even better. I do not remember the counter top display but it sure looks like the 60s. Just a few weeks ago I sent two Ops N Pops pens to Mad Men and I hope they get some air time on the show. I have a few of these prints that I had made so if you are interested in the 60s just send me a email at moose@hot.rr.com and I will try and get a copy to you. Add them all to your collection.

Pilot B2P Pens

I have had to wait on the mail before I could show these pens. I am talking about these great B2P pens from Pilot. Starting on the left are the original Pilot B2P pens that use a G2 refill. Next to them are the newer B2P ball point pens with the rubber grip. These pens use a different refill. The new refill is the same as the Pilot Dr. Grip #77228 or they can be ordered from JetPens. To the right of the grip B2Ps are the three pens that I ordered from England. They also use the Dr. Grip refill but the pens are the cheapest of all these pens. I do not see how these type pens would catch on.There is no grip and they just feel cheap. The only reason I ordered them was to have a complete set. Last are my favorite Pet Ball pens from JetPens. These are outstanding and the colors are great. They also use the DR. Grip refill. I would think in the near future we may be seeing a B2P pencil. If you are going to start a collection, start with the Pet Ball pens from JetPens. Posted by Picasa

New Cabinet For Pens

I am always looking for new ways to store pens and pencils. Here is a cabinet I found last week and it is only 7 1/2" tall, 12" across and 11" deep and has five shelves. All I will need to do is put something down like felt or some other non skidding material so things do not move around. Right now I have some knives and a few watches in there just to test it out but soon it will be holding only pens and pencils. Add one to your growing collection.Posted by Picasa

A New BIC Pen

It is not a new BIC  but it is new to the supply room. Received this green BIC in the mail today. The BIC in question is the white with green print AF-49 Accountant EX-Fine PT.  I have heard about a extra fine but have never owned one. AF-49  means it was around in the 60s and cost $.49 cents. There are a few BICs out there that are listed by collectors as rare. This AF-49 Green Accountant pen would be one of them plus the  AF49, AF59 or AF69 regular fine point Accountant BIC in green.  Two weeks ago I was bidding on a small group of old BIC pens. The one that I was after was another rare BIC called a AF-49 Auditor's EX-Fine PT.  I was out bid at $130.00. I have only seen one other AF49 EX-Fine Auditors and it is in a collection in Germany. I would have to put my new AF 49 Accountant Green, the AF49 Auditors FP Green in the rare group of BIC pens. Add all these great BIC pens to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Parker Jotters Again

Looking back over the past month I see that Parker Jotters are still one of the most visited post and Jotters are also the most visited post of all time. So here is every single Parker Jotter in the supply room as of the date of this post.  I decided some time ago that instead of collecting by date of the pen I would go with how many colors. The exception is my 1954 first year Jotter. Top row there are two yellows, two pinks and two blacks so there are twenty one different Jotters on the top row and six more on the bottom row for a total of twenty seven different Jotters. Bottom row starting on the left are two 50th Anniversary purple Jotters  followed by two purple translucent Jotters, On eBay one of these translucent purple Jotters should have been blue. Some places sell them as purple and some places sell them as blue. Add all these pens to your collect while I look for more colors. Posted by Picasa

Hotel BICs

Some months ago someone posted these great looking BIC pens from different Hotels. I apologizes for not remembering who posted them. They are called BIC Ice and these pens are used by BIC all over the world for advertising. In the picture the BIC Ice are the first sixteen pens top left. The name BIC Ice includes the BIC Clic, Wavelengths and other clear BIC pens used for advertising. I do like the colors but I also use them to refill the BIC White which is a BIC pen that I put together here in the supply room. I have three so far. There are two examples on the top right. They have a white refill, white cap, white plug, the refill has a white point and they write black ink. I have only found the white barrel refills in these BIC Ice hotel pens. Bottom right is one more BIC White and the three Italian BICs. The Italian BICs have a barrel tint to match the ink color. You made be able to find some of these great BIC Ice pens yourself  by checking some of these hotels. Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inns, Marriott Hotels, Drury Hotels, Fairfield Inns, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Days Inn, DoubleTree Inns, Wingate Hotels,.Hampton Inns. The Hampton Inn pens are a frosty color by BIC but look more like a BIC Cristal. As is the case with all these BIC pens you can refill them. So lets hit those local hotels and ask for a BIC pen (one of each color) to add to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Carded BIC Pens

Her are a few of the new carded BIC pens that have been received here in the supply room. Starting on the left is the 60th Anniversary gold and silver plastic BIC pens. Next is a BIC value pack with the white fine point pen being a AF-59 . Then we have a pack with a pink 2 way multi pen that writes pink and blue and a pink medium point easy glide cristal pen. Next are two packs of rollers (1995) with one showing old world maps and the other showing daisies. A new multi pack that I just got in this week that contains two of the pink and blue multi pens, a roller, a marker and a purple BIC Decor or Style. Last is another BIC value pack with the white fine point pen being a AF-69. Two of the packs in the picture include the BIC two way pink and blue multi pens. These pens are not sold in the US so leave a comment by 7 Oct and I will pick someone to be the first on their block to have one. US only. Add them all to your collection. Posted by Picasa

Lamy Collection

Most of the blog discussion concerning Lamy Safari pens seem to be around their fountain pens. Everybody seems to like them and for good reason. As you can see I have three of them. I have used them all at least once but with so many pens wanting to be in the daily rotation it is hard to use the same fountain pen everyday. That is why I like the rollers. Easy to use and all of the ones I have work fine. I do like the limited edition colors but I was not able to find a Aquamarine roller ball so I got the ball point. I would guess that over the years some limited edition colors did not have a roller. Looking forward to the next limited edition Lamy. The 0.5mm pencil writes just fine. As I have said before, I like color and I like clear. Lamy gives me both. Add them all to your collection.

Christmas In September

This past week I was visiting my local Staples and I saw that they had some Cross pens on display for Christmas. In the display I picked out this nice navy blue pen with a black pocket clip and black top. The Word Cross is in white on the pocket clip. I had started many years ago collecting these thin Cross ball points so this blue got my attention but since I did not have my reading glasses with me, I missed the name of the pen which is Cross Click. When I got home I opened the box and started twisting. This is the new Cross Click pen so twisting is out. Just click the top and out comes the point.  Cross did a good job on this pen. It writes great and it comes with two extra gel refills and a velvet pouch to keep it in. These refills are different from the standard Cross Ball Point Pen refill. All this for $20.00. My first Christmas present of the year. Go by Staples and get yourself one.Posted by Picasa

New Pilot Pens

I like these new pens from Pilot. I just got my package from JetPens today and these pens just jumped out at me. On the left are the original B2Ps that use a G2 refill. In the middle are the next generation pens also called B2Ps but use a different refill and are available in more colors. These pens also have the rubber grip which I like. Then JetPens get these outstanding new PetBall pens in 7 body colors. I am missing the purple and the clear with no color. These new pens and the ones in the middle use the same refills. The body colors are great on these new ones and they write with a fine point. I do not know where Pilot is going with these plastic bottle pens but I am not waiting around. I will have them all. If you go and look at the B2P videos on YouTube there appears to be another model of the pen that may only be sold overseas. Add them to your collection.  Posted by Picasa

The Winner Is

The winner of our give-away is number #3 Vikram. All you need to do is email me at moose@hot.rr.com and give me a good mailing address and the pens are your. Back on 25 August I posted my BIC pen collection. I was using 4 cases and each case holds 48 pens. Now I am up to 6 cases of 48 each. I almost didn't get them all in the picture. Right side are the BIC Wavelengths and the left side are the BIC Cristals. There are some open spaces but I need to be able to expand and I still have some pens in the mail. I was surprised at the number of BIC pens I had laying around the supply room that are now in the collection. I am sure that the total number of different BICs currently in use around the world must be in the hundreds. Add them all to your collection and thanks to all that entered the give-away. Posted by Picasa

September Give-Away

This give-away I hope will help others get started in collecting our older US made pens and pencils (there are three BICs that are from overseas in the group). I have included 24 different BIC pens. They will all have different writing on the side or a different size point or different color. I have included two Accountant fine points which are currently going for $12.00 each on ebay. Also a blue PM-39 Deluxe Med Point, a never used brown PM Deluxe Medium Point with a fine point refill that works in it. Remember all BICs can be refilled. Just pull the old refill out and put a new one in from any other BIC Pen. The older ones are from the early 80s and this set will get you started collecting BIC Pens. I have included a Wearever Set which is on the left side and a Wearever Marking Pen on the right. Both are from the late 60s or early 70s and the packages are worn some. I would think you may want to open the up and see what you can get working. At the bottom is a Sheaffer No Nonsense Fountain Pen (I am keeping the ball point). Refills for the fountain pen can be found in any local stationary store. All you have to do is sign up as a follower, and leave me a comment on this post by the 16th of September. US only on this one. I still owe to many packages to be people overseas.
UPDATE!!!!! As of 10 Sept I am now up to 30 different BIC Pens and 5 old wooden pencils added to the Give-Away. Posted by Picasa

Nice Selection

Here we have a nice selection of some of the new and old stuff that has come into the supply room this month. On the left we will start with the Pilot Delful Double knock pencil from JetPens. I have three now and have not used this blue one yet. Next are two of the new Pilot PetBall made from recycled bottles. The new colors at JetPens are great and I plan to have them all. Next is my new Pentel Tradio pencil and pen set. The fountain pen is from JetPens. This Lamy Safari Roller in the lime green is going to get a workout here. Love Green. My new Purple Pentel P1035 will always have a spot down in the supply room and it will make my third P1035 pencil. Next is another new Parker Jotter with the ingraved top. The top is on a clear green bottom and I can switch the top among 25 colored barrels. Last of the pens is a Sheaffer Translucent  No Nonsense ball point pen. Been around since the 70s but I had to have the clear green. Last in the row are some BIC pencils from around 1997. Don't see the BIC pencils around here. At the bottom is another good drafting pencil from Korea. A MonAmi MP-4003, 0.5mm lead. I replaced the lead with Pentel lead and it works fine. A nice addition to my collection. Add all these pens and pencils to your collection.Posted by Picasa

BICs As Of Today

This BIC pen collection keeps growing. I have about 45 more pens but I ran out of cases so they will wait till payday. In this picture we have five rows of BIC cristals and three rows of BIC Wavelenghts. Each case hold 48 pens and and I have not found a better way to show off the collection. For the give-away at the end of the month it will include what I call a starter set of BIC pens. If you have a collection or want to start one then keep up with my postings. It could be as many as 20 pens so stay tuned. Top left are your working BIC fine and medium point pens. Bottom left are many of the BIC round style pens. Top right are your working school or office Wavelenght pens. Those are interesting because I did not know there were that many out at the same time. One set completely missing are the three or maybe six BIC Soft Feel Pens. I do not have any of them. For those that are interested I am collecting these BIC pens three ways, by type, then by color and then by wording on the side of the pen. To get them all I will need more display cases. Add them all to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Wearever Pens

I just got this set of Wearever pens down at the supply room. I already have the pen set on the left but they were included in this lot. On the right is a Wearever fountain pen. The real interesting pens are the three in the middle. Wearever Marking Pens with the barrel being replaceable. The ink is located in the barrels so when you are out of ink you just get another barrel. They claim there is a valve in the pen that will cut off the ink supply when not in use. Replacement barrels were selling at the time for .25 cents and replacement tips were .10 cents. I have never seen these before and I do not need three so one will be part of our first give-away which will start around the first of next month. Keep checking back because the end of the month is only ten days away. Add them all to your collection.

Back To School

Posted by PicasaThis ad for BIC Pens has always been one of my favorites. This one is by Jack Davis who is a nationally known cartoonist and illustrator to include Mad Magazine. I would think from the 80s since the BIC Banana and the Accountant pens are not made anymore. Still a great ad that should be in your collection.

Midroi Brass Ballpoint Pen

JetPens was nice enough to send us a Midroi Brass Ballpoint Pen to review which is the pen at the bottom of the picture. As soon as I got it I found that we had very few small pocket size pens or pencils in our inventory. The 30 year old yellow John Deer pencil was about as close as I can get. The Midroi pen is high end compared to the bullet pencils that have been around the US since the Civil War. Most are give-aways  for farmers, feed stores, insurance and souvenirs from around the US. There are many collectors out there with large collections of bullet pencils. I like the idea of starting at the top and work down and I will do that with this Midroi pen. This Midroi is a well made bullet pen. Ready to write it is about 5 1/2 " long and feels just fine in your hand. I would not use it for all day writing but since I am making notes all day this pen works fine. The pen would be just fine without the pocket clip. Most people that I know carry these type pens and pencils put them in their front jeans pocket. The pen has a nice 0.5mm point that does lay down a nice non skip line. I like so much that I plan on adding the Midroi pencil to my collection. Top three pens in the picture are Lindys followed by the small red Scripto key chain pencil. Add them all to your collection and again thanks to JetPens for this outstanding addition to my collection. Posted by Picasa

Parker Jotters

It is always fun to see what visitors to the blog are interested in. Parker Jotters are at the top of the list and so are the Parker Vectors. There are 24 Jotters in the picture with the 1954 original Jotter at the far right. The two purple ones are 50th Anniversary pens.   As you can see they have no feathers on the pocket clip. Bottom row has my Parker Vector collection and on the right are nice 1960s Sheaffer Ball Points with the clear barrels. Add all these pens to your collection.

Pentel P205s

Been so busy with BICs and Lindy Pens that I had forgotten that I had added two more Pentel P205s to the collection. On the left are the new Gold and Silver color P205s. Nothing new about these pencils but the colors. Adding all eight pencils to your collection is a must but the gold and silver P205s are a little  disappointing. Not as bright as the first six on the right. Still I would add them to your collection. Need to lay out all my P205s and see what I have.

Before I Remove The Pens

Plenty of reorganization going on down in the supply room. I put the four cases together just to see what they would look like before I make more changes. Plenty of work went into collecting all these pens. The BIC Wavelengths on the top right are coming out of the case to be replaced by the Parker Jotters. Jotters have been a popular post of late. The bottom two cases are all Lindy pens and they do look nice in these cases. I am still missing a silver, brown and yellow color pen and all the Lindy pens in the bottom right case were added in the past 30 days. Top left are the BIC Cristals and I have added an additional BIC Auditor's  (top left of case) and a AF 59 Accountant pen ( bottom left case). Add all these pens to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Clear Pen And Pencils

So  far I have filled 6 of these cases and I need more.  Each case holds 48 slim pens or pencils. This case has 23 Scripto K780s and one K760 clear pencils across the top row.  Some of the pencils are from the Military so they were made under the Skilcraft name but are still Scriptos. Bottom left are 12 Wearever Trans-Vues Pencils. Right bottom are 10 Cross Solo Pens. At some point in the near future I plan to have all the same make in the same case. In the meantime add them all to your collection.  Posted by Picasa
