Christmas In September

This past week I was visiting my local Staples and I saw that they had some Cross pens on display for Christmas. In the display I picked out this nice navy blue pen with a black pocket clip and black top. The Word Cross is in white on the pocket clip. I had started many years ago collecting these thin Cross ball points so this blue got my attention but since I did not have my reading glasses with me, I missed the name of the pen which is Cross Click. When I got home I opened the box and started twisting. This is the new Cross Click pen so twisting is out. Just click the top and out comes the point.  Cross did a good job on this pen. It writes great and it comes with two extra gel refills and a velvet pouch to keep it in. These refills are different from the standard Cross Ball Point Pen refill. All this for $20.00. My first Christmas present of the year. Go by Staples and get yourself one.Posted by Picasa

New Pilot Pens

I like these new pens from Pilot. I just got my package from JetPens today and these pens just jumped out at me. On the left are the original B2Ps that use a G2 refill. In the middle are the next generation pens also called B2Ps but use a different refill and are available in more colors. These pens also have the rubber grip which I like. Then JetPens get these outstanding new PetBall pens in 7 body colors. I am missing the purple and the clear with no color. These new pens and the ones in the middle use the same refills. The body colors are great on these new ones and they write with a fine point. I do not know where Pilot is going with these plastic bottle pens but I am not waiting around. I will have them all. If you go and look at the B2P videos on YouTube there appears to be another model of the pen that may only be sold overseas. Add them to your collection.  Posted by Picasa

The Winner Is

The winner of our give-away is number #3 Vikram. All you need to do is email me at moose@hot.rr.com and give me a good mailing address and the pens are your. Back on 25 August I posted my BIC pen collection. I was using 4 cases and each case holds 48 pens. Now I am up to 6 cases of 48 each. I almost didn't get them all in the picture. Right side are the BIC Wavelengths and the left side are the BIC Cristals. There are some open spaces but I need to be able to expand and I still have some pens in the mail. I was surprised at the number of BIC pens I had laying around the supply room that are now in the collection. I am sure that the total number of different BICs currently in use around the world must be in the hundreds. Add them all to your collection and thanks to all that entered the give-away. Posted by Picasa

September Give-Away

This give-away I hope will help others get started in collecting our older US made pens and pencils (there are three BICs that are from overseas in the group). I have included 24 different BIC pens. They will all have different writing on the side or a different size point or different color. I have included two Accountant fine points which are currently going for $12.00 each on ebay. Also a blue PM-39 Deluxe Med Point, a never used brown PM Deluxe Medium Point with a fine point refill that works in it. Remember all BICs can be refilled. Just pull the old refill out and put a new one in from any other BIC Pen. The older ones are from the early 80s and this set will get you started collecting BIC Pens. I have included a Wearever Set which is on the left side and a Wearever Marking Pen on the right. Both are from the late 60s or early 70s and the packages are worn some. I would think you may want to open the up and see what you can get working. At the bottom is a Sheaffer No Nonsense Fountain Pen (I am keeping the ball point). Refills for the fountain pen can be found in any local stationary store. All you have to do is sign up as a follower, and leave me a comment on this post by the 16th of September. US only on this one. I still owe to many packages to be people overseas.
UPDATE!!!!! As of 10 Sept I am now up to 30 different BIC Pens and 5 old wooden pencils added to the Give-Away. Posted by Picasa

Nice Selection

Here we have a nice selection of some of the new and old stuff that has come into the supply room this month. On the left we will start with the Pilot Delful Double knock pencil from JetPens. I have three now and have not used this blue one yet. Next are two of the new Pilot PetBall made from recycled bottles. The new colors at JetPens are great and I plan to have them all. Next is my new Pentel Tradio pencil and pen set. The fountain pen is from JetPens. This Lamy Safari Roller in the lime green is going to get a workout here. Love Green. My new Purple Pentel P1035 will always have a spot down in the supply room and it will make my third P1035 pencil. Next is another new Parker Jotter with the ingraved top. The top is on a clear green bottom and I can switch the top among 25 colored barrels. Last of the pens is a Sheaffer Translucent  No Nonsense ball point pen. Been around since the 70s but I had to have the clear green. Last in the row are some BIC pencils from around 1997. Don't see the BIC pencils around here. At the bottom is another good drafting pencil from Korea. A MonAmi MP-4003, 0.5mm lead. I replaced the lead with Pentel lead and it works fine. A nice addition to my collection. Add all these pens and pencils to your collection.Posted by Picasa
