Papermates Best Years
We are taking about 1957 to 1970. They had gold plated pens with diamonds where the hearts on the pocket clip are but these pens in the picture are what most of us used. On the left is the Papermate button retractable with the plastic bottom half from about 1958. Next is the gold color retractable from about 1957. Then comes the 1959 Capri III, Good pen. Next is the Papermate 98 button retractable. Push down on the top and the point comes out. Little button above the pocket clip was pushed to retract the point. This pen was made from 1959 to 1970 with over 100 million sold. Another good pen. The small one is the Lady Capri made from 1957-1963. The next three are different types of the Contour to include the Ops N Pops. Followed by two of the Papermate Profiles. I have the thin and the middle size, missing the fat one. Over on the right is carded Malibu with the famous Piggy-Back refill. Most all the pens in this picture used this type of Papermate refill. The small Lady Capri used only 1/2 have the refill. I do not believe that this refill had more ink them a regular one but it made money for papermate. These pens were all your common ones. I am still missing a Papermate Holiday and a few others. I recommend you get them all. Good pens.

Old Stuff on Display
Since I got the new storage case set up for carded items I freed up the Scripto stand with a nice collection of past posts.

More Storage Space
We are always looking for more and better storage space for our collections. I found this rack in a closed out shoe store in Temple Texas. Four sided, over four foot tall with removable hooks. It is just what I needed for pens and pencils that are carded. Replacement hooks can be ordered on line. I will only be using three sides but it does give me more options. If you have the opportunity, try getting an extra of some of the pens and pencils that you are collecting and keep them on the cards. It is a nice way to keep up with the changing times. Add it all to your collection.

Wearever Trans-Vue Pencils
Back on 9 July, 2009 I posted this cardboard counter display with four Wearever Trans-Vue pencils. I posted four because that's all I had. Now I can show you what a complete display from the 60s looks like. I am not sure anybody has a complete set like this. Most people have never seen these pencils before. It took since last July to find eight more of these great pencils from the 60s. I have orange, yellow, red, green and clear. I have not seen any other colors. All of these work, some better then others. Very close to the Scripto K780, used 1.1mm lead and the same eraser. All of them should be in your collection.

Hasbro Protractor
Here we have two new additions to our growing ruler and protractor collection. Any of these with the French Curve are worth collecting. These two are from Hasbro, US made, 60s or early 70s. These had the French Curve, Circle Gauge, Triangles and Ruler, and all for .10 cents. They were just the right size and can still be used today. There should be one on your desk or in your backpack.

Another Pentel Pen and Watch Set
Back on the 23th of March I posted this nice Pentel Clicroller and Watch. Here is another set in black. It has a Pentel Clicroller and a larger watch made by Seiko. These are nice sets. I do not plan on using the watches but have started to use the RC-26 Clicrollers. Add them both to your collection.

Sheaffer Pencil
I have shown plenty of old carded pens and pencils with young ladies on them but here is one for the men. Confident, organized and ready for action. This is the pencil he would be using. It is in fact a good pencil. It used .09mm lead, long eraser and works well after 40 years year. From the early 60s and had a matching ball point pen to go with it. I bet that there is a pocket protector in his shirt just full of good stuff. Add one to your collection.

Another Papermate Ops N Pops
Let me introduce number "8" to the collection. The yellow one on the right. The collection of these great pens from 1967 is growing but we have a ways to go. I seem to have all the colors but if you go back to my very first post on 15 May 2009 you will see that I am still missing five designs. My original post which is a picture of the Papermate Ops N Pops Ad from 1967 there are 12 pens. I am missing 4 from the top row and 1 from the bottom row. They are getting very hard to find. Who out there is collecting all these great pens? We will continue the search and don't forget to add them all to your collection.
