Turquoise Collection

Posted by Picasa
I have been asked by some local followers to post part of my turquoise collection and since it includes a pen here it is. Lets start at the bottom with the rings. I have been collecting these for some time. My favorite one is the 17 1/2 carat fire agate which is the top left ring. Up at the top is a customized Buck 110 folding knife with turquoise grips and file work down the blade and spine. Middle is a pock knife called a sunfish. Then we have a Zippo lighter with turquoise. On the right is my biggest cuff watch band made by Eddie Spenser. It is solid silver and has 19 turquoise stones in it. Last is the turquoise ball point pen. This pen which also has some azurite and malachite in it, is made of reconstituted turquoises. The pen uses a cross refill. Add them all to your collection.

Lower End Pentels Plus Slicci

Posted by Picasa
Pentel does have a nice assortment of low end pens. This is not complete and I have no idea how many Pentels are out there but this is what is currently in the Supply Room. Most of these are found here in the US with a few exceptions. Number seven is the blue Pentel Stylo which I got from Ricardo followed by all the green R-50s, R-56 in pink and the blue BH16 also from Ricardo, the others are from England and Australia but made in France. Next is a RSVP that has been taken apart, painted so it will glow in the dark and sold on EBay. I added my two Slicci multi pens because I had two more slots to fill. Add them all to your collection.

New JetPen Order

Posted by Picasa
Can not live by old stuff alone so I made a small JetPen order. On the left is another Pilot DF 0.5mm pencil, I like the colors. Then I added a Staedtler 925-25-07 drafting pencil. Here are those new Uni-ball Style fit single color gel pens. I already had the three way but these single holders are outstanding. I think there is going to be plenty of talk about these Uni-ball singles. Last is a Pentel Vicuna with the blue body, great pen. Add them all to your collection, I did.

Lindy Pencil or Not

Posted by Picasa
Lindy Pens are always a popular post in the supply room but I have never posted or seen a Lindy Multi Pencil before. I say it is a Lindy because of the pocket clip. The clip is Lindy. It is also twice as large as any Lindy pocket clip I have ever seen. It fits perfectly with no scratch marks. This is a three way multi pencil with blue, red and gray 1.0mm lead. In the picture the red lead is fully extended and you must hold the sleeve and twist the pencil to extend more lead. This pencil is about 50 or maybe 60 years old so I put 50 year old red and blue lead in it. Gray lead is from a current Scripto K21. When you fully extend the lead and hold the pencil in your hand it does feels like a drafting pencil and it would feel right at home in a drafting pencil case. The metal eraser cap is covered by hard plastic. I have never seen a Lindy Multi Pencil before. Anybody out there seen one or know what this one is? Add it to your collection.

Rotring Tikky Collection

Posted by Picasa
Rotring Tikky is a brand everybody should have in their collection. All are pencils except for the first one on the left. Most of these are the common types available but I did go out of my way to get the clear blue 0.5mm pencil and the vanishing point white 0.7mm pencil. The last four on the right are the new Papermate Tikky pencils in 0.5 and 0.7mm. Add them all to your collection. Thanks for the eraser Ricardo!

Special Offer From Lindy

Posted by Picasa
You could have gotten in on this special offer back in 1968. A fine point Lindy Auditors pen with a free Short Shorty which I use to call a mini. You could buy all this for .49 cents. The pen has the hard to find gold Lindy pocket clip. I do not remember seeing short shortys for sale by themselves so this was how you could get one. Lindy sued BIC over the use of the name Auditors because both companies used the name on their fine point pens. Lindy lost. As I have said before the Lindy Pen is a big part of our pen and pencil history so pick one up for your collection.

Newman Pencils

Posted by Picasa
This thing with Newman started with my attempt to find a pencil to go with my two zebra ball points on the left. These are great pens that use the F-701 zebra refills. I just had no pencil to go with them. Then I found Newman pencils. Made in Japan, well constructed, all metal and work great. All three are 0.5mm. I know nothing about the Newman company. These three pencils are from the 80s and 90s and have very nice designs. They still have the pin in the eraser for clearing lead. I found two sellers on eBay but no real info on the company. They do stand out, the one on the far right is the Newman 1000 SP Drafting pencil and looks like it could be a high end drafting pencil. The black and gold color grip is great. The middle one is the Newman 2000 Wave and the one on the left is the Newman 2000 and the best match for my zebra pens. I may pick up one more before they are gone. Any info on the Newman company would be appreciated. Add them all to your collection.

More Vacation Pens

Posted by Picasa
I do not get to to take vacations anymore but I have friends and customers who do. I always ask them to pick me up a souvenir pen or pencil during their trips. These folks always come through. This trip was to the northeast part of the country to look at the fall leaves and get some pens. They did both. I added the BIC because I just got it. A BIC Quantech 0.7mm pencil. Have never seen one before in the stores. Nice looking on the card and that is where it will stay. BIC could have done better with this pencil. Just add the souvenir pens and pencils to your collection.

Lindy and Blackfeet Indian Pens

Posted by Picasa
Lindy has always been a great pen for me. The first US company to come out with 13 colors. Nice style, wrote well and came in different sizes. The Lindy Pen Company was sold to the Blackfeet Indians and moved to Montana where in the 90s the Lindy Pen Company was put to rest. At the time of the sale the Blackfeet Indians also got an on going lawsuit with BIC which in the the early 90s Lindy lost. I have posted the Lindys before except for the very small Lindys on the left and the Blackfoot Indian pens on the right. The Blackfeet Indian pens were made about the same time in the late 80s or early 90s as the Lindy pen on the card but do not have the Lindy logo. The pens have the same cap as a Lindy and say Blackfeet Indian Med Pt. All of them still work. Blackfeet Indian made pencils have always been collectible and I hope the pens join that group. It is sad to see a fine company like Lindy go away. During the 60s the Lindy Pen display stand in your local store was something to see. The second most emails I get are from Lindy Pen fans. Add all the Lindy and Blackfeet Indian pens to your collection.
