The Metal Set

Some time ago I saw someone selling Metal Pilot fountain pens and he had them all together with a few metal pencils, pens in a case like the one in the picture. I decided to do the same thing except they are not for sale. These are all very nice pens and pencils and they are all in the daily rotation. Starting on the left with my two outstanding metal Zebra ball point pens. Won't see these in any store around here. Thanks Germ!!! Next is a Sakura 0.5mm pencil with a  sliding sleeve. I bought this pencil to match up with the two Zebra ball points but I soon found out that this Sakura pencil can stand by itself.  Next are two Newman 0.5mm pencils. Again great pencils from the 1990s and cost about $20.00 each. Now we have my Pilot Switch which is both a pen/pencil and a Pilot HTR 100S-S 0.5mm pencil. My Pentel PD505 metal side clicker is next and I can say that is is one of my best pencils. Again thanks Germ. The next Pentel 0.5mm pencil has the 5 on the barrel but I have forgotten the model number. Last is the Parker Metal Vector rollerball pen. I do not think any of these pens or pencils are current issue. I added four interesting BICs just for some color. If you can find them, add them all to your collection. Posted by Picasa

Blackfeet Indian Lindy Pens

Here we have three examples of  Lindy Pens made after the company was sold and became the Lindy Pen Company a division of the Blackfeet Indian Writing Company of Browning Montana. Under new management it appears that the names of the pen colors changed. Now we have Wine Rose, Aegean Blue, Hot Red, Glitter Gold, Chocolate Brown, Autumn Orange, Fuschia Pink, Leafy Green, China Black, Nautical Blue, Sea Green, and Lush Lavender. These three are the Gold, Lavender and the Pink. These are all great examples of Lindy pens after the Blackfeet Indians bought the Lindy Pen company in 1982. Early 80s is about the end for the Lindy Pen Company and it was a sad day. These three pens were sold through K Mart. Add them all to your collection. Posted by Picasa

Christmas In May

Here we have another vintage Wearever Pen Set. I would think early 60s. What a nice Christmas present to get. This set has two ball point pens and two stick pens. Both refillable. Then you have a nice Wearever Fountain Pen with two refill cartridges. Last is a small flashlight. This set has a To and From label on the top left side. The label was filled out and I would guess given but never used. What a shame. All this in a festive Christmas box. Who would not want this gift set under their tree? Add one to your collection. Posted by Picasa

New Carded Papermate Ops N Pops Pen

I have never seen a carded Ops N Pops pen before and this one had a design I did not have in my collection. I had said some time back that all I wanted was to have ten pens. Well I guess I was wrong and I am still missing two designs. The ten on the left are all in great condition and are led by the yellow pen on the far left with black dots that was on Mad Men. The three in the middle are not collector material. With use the designs do wear off and this is what happens. One of the pens with wear also went to Mad Men. Then I see the carded one. The card is in great shape and the pen looks the same as it did in 1968. I find it interesting that the pen is held to the card with plastic strips that would need to be cut to get the pen out. I wonder if they were having a problem with the pens being stolen from the stores. This was about the time that counter top displays were on their way out. I also found that in the late 60s there was a dance and a song called the Ops N Pops and it is on youtube. Add these great pens to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Hallmark And Cross Pens

On the left are the Hallmark Porous/felt tip pens. Only one of the four work and that is because the other three are all missing the part that holds the refill. Be careful when buying these type of Hallmark pens on eBay or any other place. Make sure that all three parts are there. They are all nice additions to my collection but I would prefer them to all work. The first three are walnut and the forth one is made of an unknown wood but does look the best. Another problem is that the parts are not interchangeable.  Maybe this is why Hallmark stopped making them. The refills are almost impossible to fine so stick with the Hallmark ball point pens. The two on the right are my new Cross pens. I do like the new Cross Classic Century Pen. The grips on the barrel make this a great pen to use and it is about time Cross put a grip on their pens. The other is a Cross Metropolis Plum Ballpoint pen. This has turned out to be my new best pen. A complicated pen with great style. Grip in black with the plum cap and point. A must for anybody who likes to use ball point pens. Add all these pens to your collection. Posted by Picasa

1st Of May New Stuff

Starting on the left is a nice old pencil case from the 50s. Very simple but very neat. Next is a incomplete set of Pentech Retracto Brites ball point pens. Originally in eight colors and made in Korea. I am missing two of them and the ones I do have do not work. The yellow pen on top which is the same is a model 153 ball point pen that in 2009 was noted by the government run Korea Design Foundation as a design that has significantly influenced daily life in Korea.  Next are two sets of IPens. Made to look like a IPhone. You get three ball point pens, a pencil and a highlighter. Next is a dozen Lindy red 460F Auditors Fine point pens. Some of these pens still work!  Below the Lindys are a dozen of new BIC Medium point blue pens. Nice color. At the top are two Parker non retractable pens with their wood square holders. Bottom left a Papermate Epic ball point pen. Needed one for the collection. Standard Papermate refill and works good. Add all this stuff to your collection.

Scripto Thinline 49 Pencil

Here is my newest cardboard counter top display. This is another Scripto display from the late 70s and early 80s. This one has the often overlooked Thinline 49 0.9mm twist Scripto pencil. This pencil works just like its more famous brother the Scripto K780. I had these pencils in blue and yellow but never in the gray and orange. I believe that these were the only colors. On a sad not only the blue and yellow ones currently work properly so I have a job trying to get the others working. Getting a orange Thinline up and running would be a nice addition to my working Scripto collection. These pencils have been sitting around for some time but the counter top display as you can see is in good shape. Add all these great pencils to your collection. Posted by Picasa
