Scan Card System Is Back!!!

My Supply Room has been blogging since 2009 and by far the most visited and commented post has been about Scan Cards. With all our computers and other hand held devices today there is still a real fascination and need for a system like Scan Cards. The reason is because the system works. The original system and products were closed down after I had finished my first post on Scan Cards. Over the years I had collected  many of their products and cards and when I ran out of cards I looked on eBay and had cards made at Staples. Then I started to get emails from people about McKinley American Leathercrafters in Ohio. Websites are www.mckinleyleather.com and www.scancardorganizer.com. They are making and selling the three ring binder with the scan card inserts as pictured above. You get the very nice leather 1" binder with note pad on the right side, a scan card control panel the holds 40 cards with 500 blank cards. This total binder system also comes with a zipper binder. Currently the only other scan card product is the starter kit which would be panels, cards or both. I sent them some scan card holders that I had in my collection. I believe in the near future we will be having more types of systems to choose from. I do want to thank Derek Williams from McKinley Leather for sending this very nice leather scan card system for me to try out and review. I have used some form of scan cards for almost 20 years. Add them to your collection.       Posted by Picasa

  3. No it is not one of the ones I sent but you can contact them from the link I provided. Tell them about the card holder you are interested in.

  4. I was so excited to hear that scan cards are back. I've been cutting my own cards from 3x5 cards, but they aren't as "stiff" as the origional, and I miss the colored boarders. I still have a good supply of 3-1/4 x 6-1/2 card pads, with my name printed on the top, that fold neatly in half to fit into a card slot. One idea that I hoped may be looked at is I have a leather billfold from Executive Gallery that is 4-1/2 wide by 7 tall. Opened there are slots on the right for 8 credit or ID cards and on the left slots for 8 scan cards, and there is a pen holder. Currency and other other stuff fit into the compartments underneath the slotted panels. Being my wallet I use it daily and it is showing a lot of wear. I've cringed at the prospect of someday having to use a billfold without scancard panels.

  5. I would contact the company through the links above and maybe send them a picture of what you would like to see. We have a opportunity to get a great product going again.

    1. I will do that. Interestingly I purchased my billfold when it was a close out item at EG, so I have a suspicion that it perhaps didn't sell well. Still, it has been a great tool for jotting down notes on scan cards during the day when I didn't have my folio binder system with me, or now when I don't want to "tap a note" into the phone.

  6. Hello, I bought a top of the line Executive binder back in the early 80's I just pulled it out of a collection of leather bags and portfolios that I'm about to sell. The binder I'm definitely going to keep. If you would send me your e-mail where I can upload some photos of it I would be more than happy to send them. This binder was put away more than 20 years ago and is the exact same condition as when it was put up,thanks.....Ricardo
