Wearever Flipit Ball Pen

Here we have two different versions of the Wearever Flipit Pen. The yellow one with the silver color clip was just added to the collection. The blue version with the gold color clip has been in the Supply Room for some time.  The Flipit was an all plastic model with a lever or peg on top of the cap.  When the lever was pushed to one side the point came out. Push the lever back up and the point retracted. This pen came in many colors and sold in 1955 for .29 cents. Most of my info on the pen came from my favorite book on Ball Point Pens. The Incredible Ball Point Pen by Henry Gostony and Stuart Schneider. I am currently using the yellow one and the Fisher 4 and 1 refill works fine in these pens. Add one to your collection.

Tactical Marker

I do like getting in on new stationary items from KickStarter and here is a good example. This is the Tactical Marker by Bobby Davis. This marker uses the Sharpee metal refillable refills and when closed it is over 6" long. This is a big pen. You also can screw the back piece off and screw on the ice breaker point or the hammer end. You can also change out the pocket clip for the leather strap. This will make a great EDC pen. They had an additional part for a little more so you could also use G2 refills. For me the pen is just to big for general writing but a great size for a marker.

As you can see in this picture the black marker tip. The refill screws into the body. I am hoping that Sharpee comes out with some different colors for their pen. Add this great pen to your collection.

Pentels For a Clear Day

Since I was looking at Pentels I found these packs that I had collected. All clear pens and pencils. The pens and pencils on the top row are the Razzle-Dazzle Icy pencils, the Metallic Sunburst Christmas pack, the Carnival 0.7mm pencils in the center and on the right the Techniclick Razzle Dazzle. The Razzle Dazzle are from the early 90s when Apple came out with the iMac computer which had Razzle Dazzle colors. Bottom row has a package of two smoke colored Side Clickers. Very collectible. The Quick Dock, Pentel Metallic Sunburst, More modern Icy pencils and last the RSVP Style pens.  All the older pens and pencils are good to use but are also very collectable. Add all these great items to your collection.

Teen Screen 1967

When I was a your teen I would read these types of magazines all the time. Keeping up on my favorite groups like the Monkees, Paul Revere and the Raiders and Buffalo Springfield. In this issue there is a Ad for Papermate Ops N Pops pens and on the back is a Ad for Lindy Pens. In 1967 Lindy Pens had twelve different colors.
If you go to YouTube and search Papermate Ops N Pops pens you will see some old ads plus a Ops N Pops dance contest.
I will post my collection again soon. Great pens that are no more.

Pentel Rollerball Pens

I was pulling a Pentel RC-36 Clic Roller out of the case there other day and I saw that I had not said anything about these other great roller writers in some time. We start on the left with five R-3s. three of them are different. Then two Green R-4s, three Black R-4s, Four Blue R-4s and Three Red R-4s. In the 70s and 80s you could get refills in all four colors. Now just black. Next we have two R-6s and three R-7s. The R-7s were shinny gold color with black stripes. Last in the row are two Sterling Silver rollers. At the bottom is a R-7 in a plastic case then the 24 Karat Gold Plated roller and another Sterling Silver roller. By far these are my favorite pens of all time. I bought my first one in 1978 in Mainz Germany. I think this is a complete set of these type rollers but if anybody knows of a roller that should be in this collection please let me know. Add them all to your collection.

New Desk Items

If you look at the shelves on the desk you will see that I added a second level. The two shelves are part of a 1800s mail distribution center. It would of been a small post office set up in a general store. All I have left of this post office are the two shelves. They just give me another level to put stuff and stuff I have. I have been asked how do I get anything done? Well with this much stuff it sometimes can be hard. Most of my work gets done at the computer so at the desk I work on pens and pencils. I am currently getting ready to sell a few items on eBay so I am in the process of conducting a inventory. Add all this great stuff to your desk.

Old Stuff From The Desk

Anytime I can pick up a mixed bag of old items from a desk I do. The four stationary items of interest from left to right are a carpenters pencil sharpener, then a Eagle Pencil Co. old compass. Not sure of the age but I would think 40s or 50s. Next is another Scripto all metal 5-47 from the 40s or 50s. This is the second one I have picked up this year and it is not in as good of shape as the first one. The 5-47 was listed as a office pencil and the more common 4-47 was listed as a pocket pencil. Last is a Eagle Turquise "Automatic 3377" 2mm pencil which is in great shape. The other stuff is a collection of things the owner used and kept in his desk. Add all these old stationary items to your collection.

Big Red By Parker

On the left are three Parker Big Red pens. You could get these pens in either ball point or felt tip pen with these three being ball points. The orange one and the clear one are new to the Supply Room. The Big Reds were made to look like the Parker Duofold from 1921. They were made from 1970 to 1981. The clear one may be the exception because it was made in Brazil.  The three on the right are Sheaffer NoNonsense pens. Made I am sure to compete with the Parker Big Red. These are ball points and they also had as a fountain pen that used the same refill as the Sheaffer School Fountain Pen. Add all these great pens to your collection.

Parker 5th Technology Pen

This is the second one of these Parker 5th pens that I have bought. The original all stainless steel one is at the bottom and the new one is resting on the calculator. The original one cost abut $50 and I am sure it is the cheapest of the line. It is just to slippery for me. It is hard to pull the cap off so I picked up the next higher one and it works fine. The new one has a black body and lines that run the length of the body. Not sure what they coated the barrel with but there in no slipping. The new one only cost me $26.00 on a eBay auction. This 5th Technology does not appear to me to be very popular but I like it fine. I grew up on felt tips and this is a good one. Flexible point and and once you get the flow of the ink going it makes for great writing. It is made to look like a fountain pen but it is a felt tip. Yes a Radio Shack calculator and transistor radio.
Here are some felt tips from over the years. On the left we start with the Sheaffer Glideriter felt tip pen.  It uses the same body and refill as the Sheaffer School Fountain Pen. Next is the Papermate Executive Flair. Flairs are still in use today but at one time they had a line of refillable Flairs. To get them working you must use Cross refills. Two Lindy felt tip pens. The yellow model is the one I remember. A Esterbrook Felt Tip and the Pentel S360 Felt Tip that has been around for many years. The Cross Felt Tip Refillable Pen and the Refillable Hallmark Felt Tip Pen. Both very collectible. Last two are the Faber Castell Grip Color Marker and the current Schneider Xpress Marker. There are plenty more out there and these are just the ones I grabbed for this post.
Here are the parts of the Parker 5th. Refills are expensive. I paid $8.00 plus shipping. You just pull the old one out and put the new one in. Add all these great felt tips and the Parker 5th to your collection. I had contacted the Parker Pen Company to ask some questions and a very nice lady named Mary Boufford the SAS Supervisor sent me two Parker 5th refills to use. The more I use this pen the better I like it.
