Sterling Plastic Rocket

Posted by PicasaThis is a Sterling Plastic 6407 Rocket with a pencil sharpener housed in the removable capsule. It appears that in the 60s or early 70s this rocket was made by Sterling Plastic. The one in the picture was made recently from the original SP (Sterling Plastic) tooling except the small pencil sharpener which was made by Sterling Plastic and is marked SP. The rocket was made to go with some type of Lionel toy train. The number on the rocket is NR#529. Last week on EBay they were selling an original Sterling Plastic Capsule and it sold for $190.00. Since I am looking for as many Sterling Plastic items as are still out there $190.00 was more then I wanted to pay. So instead I paid $40.00 and got the complete set with the SP only on the sharpener. The entire rocket was made in the US. Add them all to your collection.

JetPens

Posted by PicasaTime to start off the new year with my JetPens order. On the left is the Uni-ball Kuru Toga pencil. I like this one for the office since it has no pocket clip. Next is the new Pentel Vicuna multi pen with some of the smoothest ink I have used lately. Then the new Pentel Graph 1000 CS 0.05mm pencil in black and the new Pentel Stein P315 0.5mm pencil in blue. Three in a row are these Pilot Petit2 Mini sign pens. Only one I have used is the lime green sign pen and it reminds me of a time when we used more felt tip marker/pens. Last is the Platinum Multi pen in a fresh leaf green plastic body. This multi pen was a real surprise and the ink is smooth and the colors are good and bright. Add all these great JetPen pens and pencils to your collection.

New Items For Christmas

I first saw this moleskine clear highlighter pen over at OfficeSupplyGeek. I like pens and pencils that are clear so this was one I wanted to see up close. The highlighter refill works OK. Nothing to write home about plus I paid about $15.00 for the pen. I took the refill out and replaced it with a Parker Jotter refill and now we have something I can use. While Parker Jotter refills will work in this Moleskine pen the highlighter refill will not work in a regular Parker Jotter. That is fine because I like the new Jotter refill in my clear pen. Yes I also got a Rat Fink coffee mug. What a way to start a new day. Add them both to your collection. Posted by Picasa

New Pentels

Some of the stationary stores are starting to get some Pentel EnerGels in new colors. The silver one came out first followed by the pink and then the black. The big surprise for me was finding the gold and the blue. These are great colors and when I loaded the blue one with a fine point refill the pen got even better. If you want these new pens you will need to go to eBay. I do not expect these new colors ever be here in Central Texas. The blue and gold EnerGel pens were shipped in the nice metal case shown at the top of the picture. Add all five pens to your collection. Posted by Picasa

Best Of 2012

I have been very busy so far this month so I am behind on my posts. I received some great items during 2012 but the ones that impressed me most or that I like the best are in this picture. On the left are the great BIC Pens from the 60s. This included the F-25s in the box ( got six boxes) plus the AF-49 Fine Point and the AF-49 Extra Fine Point Pens. Next is a multi pen I have not seen before. A Pilot Switch and it is like the one that JetPens has (called a Pilot Birdy Switch) but there are some differences. The one here in the picture is larger, 5.5" long and more like a standard pen size plus it also has rubber strips as a grip. At the bottom is a 0.5mm pencil and the pen is under the top. I got this from a seller in Japan and was afraid that I may never be able to get refills for the pen till I saw them on Jetpens. We can always count on JetPens. Next are the new Cross Click Pens. There are at least three more colors I am missing. I grew up on Cross pens and I will never know why it took so long to come up with a click pen. Last on the right are some of the best pens for 2012. Pilot Petball or B2Ps in seven different colors (only six in the picture). I like clear, I like color and JetPens got me both. These pens are the forth different B2P pen out. Looks like 2013 is going to be an outstanding year for pen and pencils so let us start collecting. Don't forget to leave a comment for the TUL give-away. Most popular posts for 2012 were Parker Jotters, Scan Cards, Hallmark Pens, BICs and Lamy Pens.Posted by Picasa

OfficeMax Give-Away

As many of you know we do very few reviews down in the supply room and the reason for that is we like everything we have. If we don't like it we don't keep it. It was no surprise to me that I liked the new and improved TUL Gel, Rollerball, Ballpoint and the Marker Pen. They all work fine and I would recommend these pens to everyone. I like the Marker Pen and the Rollerball pens the best as far as writing goes and we are talking smooth writing. I would however like to see the tops of the Marker and Rollerball pens stay in place with a click when you uncap them. Turn these pens up side down and with a few shakes the cap will fall of. On the other hand loose caps may just be me.We do want to thank OfficeMax for sending us a set of these great pens. We also have one set of these pens to give-away so send us a comment by 14 January and a nice set of four will be sent to you. I think this set of four may not be available in stores so lets leave a comment. Add them all to your collection. US only on this one.
