Another Ops N Pops Ad

Posted by PicasaIt is a ad from the 60s but it is new to the supply room. You can see just a corner of the other Ops N Pops ad on the right side of the picture. This new one is even better. I do not remember the counter top display but it sure looks like the 60s. Just a few weeks ago I sent two Ops N Pops pens to Mad Men and I hope they get some air time on the show. I have a few of these prints that I had made so if you are interested in the 60s just send me a email at moose@hot.rr.com and I will try and get a copy to you. Add them all to your collection.

Pilot B2P Pens

I have had to wait on the mail before I could show these pens. I am talking about these great B2P pens from Pilot. Starting on the left are the original Pilot B2P pens that use a G2 refill. Next to them are the newer B2P ball point pens with the rubber grip. These pens use a different refill. The new refill is the same as the Pilot Dr. Grip #77228 or they can be ordered from JetPens. To the right of the grip B2Ps are the three pens that I ordered from England. They also use the Dr. Grip refill but the pens are the cheapest of all these pens. I do not see how these type pens would catch on.There is no grip and they just feel cheap. The only reason I ordered them was to have a complete set. Last are my favorite Pet Ball pens from JetPens. These are outstanding and the colors are great. They also use the DR. Grip refill. I would think in the near future we may be seeing a B2P pencil. If you are going to start a collection, start with the Pet Ball pens from JetPens. Posted by Picasa

New Cabinet For Pens

I am always looking for new ways to store pens and pencils. Here is a cabinet I found last week and it is only 7 1/2" tall, 12" across and 11" deep and has five shelves. All I will need to do is put something down like felt or some other non skidding material so things do not move around. Right now I have some knives and a few watches in there just to test it out but soon it will be holding only pens and pencils. Add one to your growing collection.Posted by Picasa

A New BIC Pen

It is not a new BIC  but it is new to the supply room. Received this green BIC in the mail today. The BIC in question is the white with green print AF-49 Accountant EX-Fine PT.  I have heard about a extra fine but have never owned one. AF-49  means it was around in the 60s and cost $.49 cents. There are a few BICs out there that are listed by collectors as rare. This AF-49 Green Accountant pen would be one of them plus the  AF49, AF59 or AF69 regular fine point Accountant BIC in green.  Two weeks ago I was bidding on a small group of old BIC pens. The one that I was after was another rare BIC called a AF-49 Auditor's EX-Fine PT.  I was out bid at $130.00. I have only seen one other AF49 EX-Fine Auditors and it is in a collection in Germany. I would have to put my new AF 49 Accountant Green, the AF49 Auditors FP Green in the rare group of BIC pens. Add all these great BIC pens to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Parker Jotters Again

Looking back over the past month I see that Parker Jotters are still one of the most visited post and Jotters are also the most visited post of all time. So here is every single Parker Jotter in the supply room as of the date of this post.  I decided some time ago that instead of collecting by date of the pen I would go with how many colors. The exception is my 1954 first year Jotter. Top row there are two yellows, two pinks and two blacks so there are twenty one different Jotters on the top row and six more on the bottom row for a total of twenty seven different Jotters. Bottom row starting on the left are two 50th Anniversary purple Jotters  followed by two purple translucent Jotters, On eBay one of these translucent purple Jotters should have been blue. Some places sell them as purple and some places sell them as blue. Add all these pens to your collect while I look for more colors. Posted by Picasa

Hotel BICs

Some months ago someone posted these great looking BIC pens from different Hotels. I apologizes for not remembering who posted them. They are called BIC Ice and these pens are used by BIC all over the world for advertising. In the picture the BIC Ice are the first sixteen pens top left. The name BIC Ice includes the BIC Clic, Wavelengths and other clear BIC pens used for advertising. I do like the colors but I also use them to refill the BIC White which is a BIC pen that I put together here in the supply room. I have three so far. There are two examples on the top right. They have a white refill, white cap, white plug, the refill has a white point and they write black ink. I have only found the white barrel refills in these BIC Ice hotel pens. Bottom right is one more BIC White and the three Italian BICs. The Italian BICs have a barrel tint to match the ink color. You made be able to find some of these great BIC Ice pens yourself  by checking some of these hotels. Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inns, Marriott Hotels, Drury Hotels, Fairfield Inns, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Days Inn, DoubleTree Inns, Wingate Hotels,.Hampton Inns. The Hampton Inn pens are a frosty color by BIC but look more like a BIC Cristal. As is the case with all these BIC pens you can refill them. So lets hit those local hotels and ask for a BIC pen (one of each color) to add to your collection.Posted by Picasa

Last is another BIC value pack with the white fine point pen being a AF-69. Two of the packs in the picture include the BIC two way pink and blue multi pens. Lamy Collection

Most of the blog discussion concerning Lamy Safari pens seem to be around their fountain pens. Everybody seems to like them and for good reason. As you can see I have three of them. I have used them all at least once but with so many pens wanting to be in the daily rotation it is hard to use the same fountain pen everyday. That is why I like the rollers. Easy to use and all of the ones I have work fine. I do like the limited edition colors but I was not able to find a Aquamarine roller ball so I got the ball point. I would guess that over the years some limited edition colors did not have a roller. Looking forward to the next limited edition Lamy. The 0.5mm pencil writes just fine. As I have said before, I like color and I like clear. Lamy gives me both. Add them all to your collection.
