Just In Time For Christmas

Posted by Picasa
Just in time for Christmas back in the 1940s. Here we have a outstanding Christmas Scripto pencil set. The pencil is a P-3-45 and used 1.1mm lead. It is in good but not great condition. The top where the eraser would fit is loose. You can still twist the top to move the lead in and out but I am afraid it is not for daily use. This Christmas gift set had a box of 1.1mm lead and a box of erasers. I do like the pocket clip. I have never seen a scripto clip like that. I may start adding more of these 1940s and 50s scripto pencils to my collection. Add one of these sets to your Christmas list this year.

My New Case For Pencils

Posted by Picasa
I just resenting picked up this leather pen and pencil holder. It holds 50 pencils and this one filled up quick. I will need another one soon. I will keep my Pilot H2005 and the Faber-Castell TK matic in their own cases. Daily rotation pencils will also be kept on my desk. I have 4 other different cases to hold both pens and pencils. If you have a large collection like down in the supply room there is no way you can use all these pens and pencils at the same time so these type of storage cases work great. As you have seen before on other posts all the plastic counter display cases are also filled. Add them all to your growing collection.

Another Old Pencil Box

Posted by Picasa
Here we have another old pencil box from the 60s. Somebody cut the card so we will never know what the complete one looked like. Do not know much about this pencil box. It was made by the Commonwealth Plastics Corp. Leominster, Massachusetts. model 558-B. You grab the box at both ends and pull out. Came with two wooden pencils, a 6" plastic ruler and a plastic pencil sharpener. Not much room for anything else. Add one to your collection and Happy Thanksgiving.

The mailman has been busy. Starting on the left are the new Lady BIC Crystals from Target. Thanks Derek. Then there is the new clear Tombow Air Press from JetPens. Followed by my new 50 year old metal Scripto 1.1mm pencil. I have not identified the model number yet but is in perfect condition. Four new Pentel Graft 500s from 0.3 to 0.9mm. These are outstanding. Next is a Pentel Graph 1000 Stein and a blue Stein eraser. A packaged Staedtler 925 07. Now we get to my pride and joy. My rOtring 0.5mm 600 in black and the rOtring 0.7mm 600 in the silver color. These are very nice pencils. I carry them in my pocket and use them for everyday writing. At the bottom is a red RX 503 Excalibur roller from the 80s. This was a great addition to my Excalibur collection. Thanks Germ. Add them all to your collection.

Pentel Sterling Silver Roller

Posted by Picasa
As a general rule I do not promote anyone selling on my blog but I did want to point this person out. Currently on EBay there is a person selling 1991 Pentel Sterling Silver Rollers for $38.00 or less. I just got mine in the mail today. I already had two from other sources but I could not pass this up. These are sterling silver, almost 20 years old, are serial numbered, and Pentel still makes the refills. These pens are the same size as a Pentel Slim roller like a R-3 or R-7. They use Pentel MG8 refills The seller's EBay page states that he still has ten for sale as of the date of this posting. I would recommend one for your collection. `

Sterling Plastic Update

Posted by Picasa
Back on 27 May 2009 I first posted my Sterling Plastic Presidential Educator pencil cases. I only had three at the time. Now I find number four. The two on the left are Sterling Plastic Model 558 and the two on the right which includes the new one are model #562. I know have cases ending in President Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and my new one Carter. The real question is where is Ford? Was one made? These cases were made from 1963 to 1977. These are all US made in Mountainside New Jersey. All sterling plastic office and school supplies are very collectible so add them all to your collection.

More Pedigree Supplies

Posted by Picasa
Here we have two more old Pedigree school supply items. On the left is your standard school Compass. Who did not have an old metal compass with the 3" wooden pencil like this? I bet over the years I had a desk full of them. This package also has a nice small red plastic protractor to go along with the compass. Just what you need in school. On the right is a Pedigree 10 in 1 multiple instrument in clear plastic. This one looks a little strange. I don't have any others with this particular shape in my collection. Both items are made in the USA, by the Empire Pencil Company a division of Hasbro and from around the 60s. It is getting harder to find these old metal and plastic school supplies so add the both to your collection.

Wooden Pens and Pencils

Posted by Picasa
Wood is nice. Here is my complete collection of wooden pens and pencils. The Hallmarks on the left have been posted before and have turned out to be one of the more popular posts. Every collector should have a hallmark pen or pencil in their collection. The others are from different stores over the years. One is a souvenir pen, one from the state fair. Most of these pens and pencils are at least 10 years old. Hallmaks are older. The ball points use cross refills. Add them all to your collection.
